How To Draw A Cat Jumping
Sleek and speedy, cats have an uncanny ability to slip into almost every available space with seemingly effortless ease. They can run, climb and, of course, jump – and always seem to land on their feet! Time to celebrate the feline form through the power of art – let's get started.

Step by Step Images and Instructions
1.
Begin with a black fineliner pen, and draw a small circle to the right of the center of the page. Add a thicker line to the left edge of this.
2.
Next, add a "3" shape to the right of this circle, with the center of the "3" roughly level with the circle.
3.
In the bottom half of the "3", add a small semicircle shape, and then a short, curved line just below this.
4.
Return to the middle of the "3", and continue the line across to the left, before curving it back around to the right.
5.
Now, return to the bottom curve of the "3", and flick the line back across and down, parallel to the one you just drew. At the end of this, add a small "bump".
6.
Immediately underneath this, connect the other line to the "bump" you just created, and then curve this line down and back across to the left.
7.
Return to the top of the "3", and add a small triangle to give your kitty a cute ear.
8.
Now, add a smaller shape inside the ear – follow the curve of the left-hand line, bring it across, and then reach up with a "jagged" line.
9.
Add a second triangle to the right of the first, to create another ear…
10.
And then continue the left line of the left ear down, before taking it across and down, and then angling it back up to the top left-hand corner of the page. Here, it should be curved.
11.
Return to the curve at the front, and add a short, curved line just inside the left leg.
12.
Continue the line of the left leg up and across, running parallel with the line at the top.
13.
Now, add another wavy line just above this, starting from just below the top of the left leg. Bring this across to meet the line you just drew, and then angle it down and across to the left.
14.
At the end of this line, add another foot, and bring the back line up to almost meet the top line.
15.
Add a small mark in the center of the back foot…
16.
And then add the fourth and final foot just behind this.
17.
Now, add two long, wavy lines to the gap you left, angling these up towards the top left-hand corner of the page. Join these at the end with a curve.
18.
Add a short line to the end of the tail to create a tip…
19.
And then two long, thin stripes across the cheek of the kitty.
20.
Continue the bottom line of the tail down in a wavy movement, to meet the bottom line.
21.
Next, use a pink pen to add color to the inside of the ear and the tip of the nose…
22.
And a gray pen to fill in the rest of the body.
23.
Take a black fineliner pen, and add a short mark to each of the front legs to create toes.
And there we have it – your very own sleek, graceful feline to admire – the only question is just what sort of mischief are they planning…
